Hose Replacement on Safe Boreas

TESS carried out an extensive hose replacement on the Safe Boreas accommodation rig in Skipavika.

Prosafe is the owner and operator of Safe Boreas, a semi-submersible accommodation support vessel (ASV) used to house and support offshore personnel. TESS was on board to replace approximately 1,000 hoses on offshore cranes and thrusters. All hoses were pre-produced based on data in the TESS Hose Management (THM) system.

The THM team, consisting of four TESS mechanics, was mobilized to disassemble the old hoses, install the new ones, perform function testing of equipment, and update the hose register. The assignment was part of the maintenance work before the rig was mobilized for a new assignment.

– The benefits of the TESS Hose Management system are that it provides Prosafe with a central database for all hoses, and it allows us to easily identify the hoses required for upcoming projects. We have a reliable supplier in TESS, and the local support is very helpful, said Mark Glacken, Project Technical Superintendent at Prosafe.
