The company produces a “Subsea Running Tool”, which is run in both the riser and open sea. In addition, they have “running tools” that contain hoses.
– We have a good dialogue with TESS from before, who is a supplier of everything from chemicals, protective equipment, consumables, hoses and fittings, says Stian Kobbeltvedt, Workshop Manager at CCB Subsea.
Kobbeltvedt describes several advantages of the system:
– The advantages are that we are generally able to have a little better control, and that we get better maintenance routines on the equipment we have. It is important for customers that we have control over the equipment, and it simplifies operations, for example if a hose breaks in an operation. The safety benefit is that a risk assessment is carried out on the hoses that are placed in the system, which is important for us, as we want to reuse rather than throw away and buy new. We are confident that what we have is in OK condition. It is also a safer system for the hoses we have, he says.
– The existing trust in TESS is an important part of why we chose to implement this system, concludes Kobbeltvedt.
