– I anchor all hose replacements in our maintenance system. In addition, we have the THM system, where we can go in and double-check. It is a faster way to figure things out. We can also show it to customers and supervisors, says Tor-Halvor Skåli, SPS Engineer at Odfjell Drilling – Deepsea Yantai.
Every five years, the rig must be DNV-classified, which involves defining the equipment on board that needs inspection. Odfjell Drilling has carried this out in three stages: Conditional Assessment, NDT of all equipment and testing of all equipment. DNV participates and approves.
– In the run-up to 2022, when we started the big job we have done here, I had a plan for how I wanted to do it. Then I spoke to the project manager at TESS, and we agreed on how we would manage the project and what was important. It was important to replace hoses, but it was also important to register that all the hoses that were in the register were actually installed. I have had a fantastic collaboration with TESS, says Skåli.
