At Volvo Maskin’s main workshop at Mastemyr, TESS provides a variety of services, including TESSgate, Partnershop, a TESS-staffed hose workshop, and large-scale deliveries of oil products. These solutions and deliveries provide the customer with significant savings and efficiency gains.
– Volvo Maskin has gradually evolved into a total customer. In addition to TESSgate, the hose workshop, and Partnershop, they have an agreement for centralized lubrication and installation through Smøreteknikk. Our delivery of products, technical solutions, and services to Volvo Maskin shows that the term ‘total solution provider’ is becoming increasingly appropriate for TESS, including within the contracting segment, says Bjørn Erik Halvorsen, KAM for Volvo Maskin at TESS Ski.
Lubrication Kits and Tool Trolleys
As the Key Account Manager, Halvorsen is almost permanently stationed at the workshop at Mastemyr.
– There is always one of us walking around and being available so that the workshop has all its needs met, he says, while also taking the opportunity to praise other key contributors at TESS who ensure that Volvo Maskin receives top service at all times.
– Jørn Svensen, who runs the Partnershop at Mastemyr, is doing a formidable job there. Sigbjørn Kjos as well; he works as a backup KAM for me and assists with much of the work carried out at the customer’s site, says Halvorsen.
TESS maintains a close and productive collaboration with Smøreteknikk.
– General Manager Eirik Schlytter has helped us create custom lubrication kits for Volvo with parts and equipment. Smøreteknikk has also held dedicated courses for Volvo, and they do a great job with the installation of centralized lubrication equipment on the machines. In connection with TESS supplying tools to Volvo Maskin, we have also created tool trolleys. Bård Olai Olssen was responsible for the production of the trolleys; he has done an exceptionally good job with these, says Halvorsen.
“Freeing Up Time for Volvo Employees”
Volvo Maskin, represented by Department Manager Petter Sakshaug, is very satisfied with the collaboration with TESS.
– A representative from TESS is here with us daily, assisting with hose production and ensuring we have all the materials we need for daily operations at the workshop. This solution works very well. The fact that TESS is also a total supplier of tools and equipment, and is helpful in procuring most products and services, frees up time to serve customers and satisfy their needs and wishes, says Sakshaug.
Better Control with Unmanned Warehouse Solution
A TESSgate is located at the workshop and functions as a local warehouse for maintenance and consumable items. Statistics from TESSgate provide a good overview of which goods are used most and who is responsible for the withdrawals.
– For us, it works very well that TESS replenishes consumables and products in the TESSgate. The products are available to our mechanics at all times, while we also gain better control over consumption. We also use the TESSgate to keep track of our own specialized tools, and can easily see who retrieves and uses the tools we store there, says Sakshaug, adding:
