The prestigious award for the year’s most innovative product has been presented, and Båstadgruppen Norge AS with its Guardio Armet took home the victory. The jury specifically highlighted the helmet’s combination of MIPS technology, NFC scanner, and the possibility of automatic notification in the event of accidents. The solution adds a new digital dimension to protective equipment and can help save lives when seconds matter most. The next generation of the helmet, which will send a message directly to emergency services in the event of a hard impact, will be launched as early as this summer.
Chairman of the jury, Terje Fagervik from Stiftelsen Tradebroker, praised the winner for a holistic approach to safety and digitization:
– Båstadgruppen Norge AS with Guardio Armet shows that protective equipment can be both modern, innovative and economically profitable. They have created a product that sets a new standard for safety in the construction industry.
The other finalists Kemppi Minarc T 223 ACDC GM and PFERD CC-GRIND VIEW also received praise from the jury. Kemppi’s new welding machine impressed with its portability and integrated electrolytic weld cleaning, while PFERD’s revolutionary grinding disc CC-GRIND VIEW attracted attention for its viewing route and ergonomic benefits.
Visitors to the expo can still experience all three products at stand 147 (Båstadgruppen Norge AS), stand 17 (Kemppi Norge AS) and stand 27 (PFERD) respectively. The jury hopes that this year’s finalists will inspire more players in the industry to invest in future-oriented solutions that combine sustainability, innovation, economy and digitization.
