Equinor and TESS have signed an agreement for the supply of hoses and services for the next five years. The agreement has significance for the entirety of TESS and also includes the hose control system and services.
The hose contract with Equinor is worth NOK 200 million and is valid for the next five years with an option to renew for another three years. It also includes security analyses, hose installation maintenance and digital transaction solutions.
The hoses and hose components will be used at Equinor's offshore facilities, on land and where they are operators. In addition to hoses and accessories, security and standardised digital transaction solutions are essential elements.
“Security and integrated solutions are important to successful delivery to Equinor. The contract that has now been signed has such a long horizon that we have the opportunity to contribute to further savings through the use of our hose control system, TESS Hose Management”, said Erlend Gjerdevik, general manager of TESS Vest AS.
The contract with Equinor is managed from TESS Vest in Kokstad, Bergen, but has significance for all of TESS and a number of TESS Service Centres from Stavanger to Hammerfest in particular. Sixty per cent of TESS Vest's turnover is related to oil and gas activities. TechnipFMC and Equinor account for a large part of this.
TESS Hose Management
TESS Hose Management, THM, will be able to support Equinor's efforts to increase standardising and digitising. Together with our integrated supply solutions, the system can in the long run contribute to savings and increased security.
This is the fifth time TESS has signed a similar framework agreement with Equinor, formerly Statoil. The first was signed in 1991. Since then, except for a short interval, TESS has provided hoses and related services to the company.
The collaboration with Equinor also includes TESS's own engineering and production operations in Bergen and at the head office in Lier, where TESS Subsea manufactures large umbilicals, which comprise many hoses bundled with up to eight feeders in one unit.

This is THM
TESS Hose Management, THM, consists of physical inspections by TESS or the customer, digital labelling by RFID technology, barcodes, software that can be used offline and online and hand-held devices that can also be used in environments at risk of explosions. TESS trains and certifies Equinor's personnel to correspond to the TESS employees who carry out THM hose inspection.
