How to Choose the Right Work Shoes:

  1. Purchase shoes that meet the needs of your job. For some, steel-toe caps and nail protection may suffice, while others may require features like Gore-Tex or completely waterproof boots.

  2. In many professions, you'll need two, maybe three different types of shoes. For instance: lightweight and breathable for indoor tasks, water-resistant for outdoor use, and insulated for winter conditions.

  3. Be meticulous in finding shoes that fit each employee perfectly. Feet varies, and TESS offers shoes with different widths and insoles. Most TESS have foot scanners that provide valuable assistance in finding the right fit and sole.

  4. Good cushioning is important, but that doesn't mean you should wear sneakers to work. Work shoes offer much better stability and are designed to endure many more hours.

  5. Choose shoes of good quality. It's cheaper in the long run.

  6. Many insoles can be washed at 30 degrees. Take advantage of this! Regular washing reduces odor buildup in the shoes.

– The choice of footwear is about our health. If the foot doesn't get proper support, we compensate – and develop problems in calves, knees, hips, and eventually the back and neck," says customer manager Stein Øynes at TESS Hamar, adding:

– Of course, you want to stay healthy and fit and have both energy and a good back for the weekends.
