The company Pferd is the winner of the 2017 MRO awards for a new and revolutionary grinding disc for aluminum processing. Alumaster, which is the name of the product, has a lifetime that equals the life of about 500 traditional grinding discs. The operating time is cut by 80 percent. At the same time the process is done with no dust, and no risk of explosion. Particles from the process can be sold for recycling.
-It is truly a nice recognition for an innovative product we have a lot of faith in, says Staffan Sonesson at Pferd, who spent Wednesday and Thursday demonstrating and showcasing the Alumaster disc – with great enthusiasm. –We receive the MRO-award with great pleasure. Especially considering the jury’s emphasis on HSE, safety and the ergonomic qualities of the product.
As the great ambassador he is for innovation, Staffan Sonesson underlines the lifecycle economy of the winning product, and environmental friendly improvements made in this type of work processes. –Compared to a traditional method the Alumaster helps to reduce the energy consumption, the use of less resources in the process itself, and leaves behind a residual material that is reusable. And the work is done in 80 percent less time, Staffan Sonessen points out, as he informs us that the product has been in use for about a year and has already brought home a lot of glory back in Sweden.
