2300 hoses on the drilling ship West-Gemini
TESS Canarias will replace 2300 hoses on the drilling ship West-Gemini.
The assignment is booked by Seadrill, with the startup being mid-August. Before that time the hoses and fittings will be picked by the logistics team and assembled at the hose-workshop in Lier.
-The replacement of the hoses will be done by people from Aberdeen Gran Canaria and Norway, says Jan Georg Tunes, the head of THM and Chairman of TESS Canarias. The job will take about two months. The hoses and extra material to make what isn’t included on the customers’ item-lists will be sent down by the end of July. Until then it’s all hands on deck – several people from the TESS-building is stepping up to process and prepare this order.
-In connection with this task there will be new procedures made to back up the work process, says Jan Georg Tunes.
At the moment the West-Gemini is of the coast of South-Africa on course to Gran Canaria where the work will be done while the ship is at quay.
